How to read a supplement label
Share
Turn the pack around. First find the serving size, then read the amount of each ingredient per serving. Next check directions, allergens, added sugar, expiry and storage. The front gives you the mood; the label gives you the details.
A handy shopping habit is to compare two products side by side using the same serving measure. If you already use a multivitamin or another supplement, check for repeated ingredients before doubling up.
A two-minute shopping habit
Pick up the pack, turn it over, and read serving size, active amounts and directions in that order. Then scan for allergens, storage instructions and expiry. If two products use the same ingredient, compare their servings before using both on the same day.
